Chorley Flower Show Sunday 29th July

Message from Chorley Council.

We’ve done all we can to get Chorley Flower Show on today but due to the ground conditions, high winds and rain we’ve taken the decision to cancel the event for the safety of visitors and people taking part in the show.

We delayed a decision to give it as much chance as possible but after speaking to everyone involved we decided to cancel the event. The exhibitors and traders were in agreement with the decision.

Information about refunds will be shared in the coming days.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and thanks to everyone who supported the event for what was a very successful event yesterday.

Chorley in Bloom RHS Judging

Chorley Mayor Cllr. Margaret Lees and Consort Roy Lee’s with the Judges Malcolm Eubank and Alan Hulme and me at the end of the tour today. The frame has extra flowers attached courtesy of the many crafters who knitted more flowers for Chorley in Bloom. Thanks go all our volunteers. You did Chorley proud today.

Calling all knitters and crocheters, Chorley in Bloom wants lots more flowers, leaves and bugs again this year. The committee have some new ideas on how to use them which will be unveiled (if we have enough) this summer. We need all sorts of flowers and also many poppies.  By the way the Knitted Photo Frame will be featured in the BBC2 series when the Blooming Marvellous episode on 9th May at 6.30 about Chorley is shown, so all the people who knitted and crocheted during the last 2 years will have a chance of being able to see their handiwork on the television.
