Chorley in Bloom “Coronovirus Update”- Projects and Community Gardens.

Hi Everyone,

We hope that you are all well and keeping safe in these extraordinary times.

Throughout the pandemic, our gardens have looked lovely, very colourful and we have had many comments on just how they have brightened up the most miserable of days. This is a testament of the work that the group have achieved and although work ceased due to the virus early in the year, the gardens have flourished and the town has seen colourful and vibrant displays.

While we are beginning to see a slow recovery, like every other organisation we are unsure what the future will look like and need to restructure and reorganise in line with current guidelines.  Our members and volunteers safety is our priority and it is important that volunteers do not drop their guard and remember that those over 70 years of age, regardless of general health are particularly vulnerable and should be limiting any contact with people outside of their household.  As many of our members fall into this category and after seeking advice, we shall be unable to work with schools, uniformed organisations and volunteers in any capacity at present,

We will, however, be putting into place safety measures and will be able to offer guidance, advice and problems experienced on your own garden plots via our e mail address (chorleyinbloomgroup@gmail.com) and there will be regular updates on our facebook and website pages.

The group wish to acknowledge that volunteers are very important to us and the committee look forward to working with you all again, once the restrictions have been lifted.  Until then, follow the guidelines and stay safe and well.

Regards

Chorley in Bloom.
